CALLIGRAPHY workshop

Saturday, february 1, 2020 | 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM

This modified Neuland alphabet is based on Rudolf Koch’s designed typeface.  It is an easy-to-learn, remarkably useable and adaptable modern calligraphy hand.  We will be making our own calligraphy writing tools to create magical results from gossamer, transparent letters to bold, powerful ones. Carrie will also touch on how you can apply these techniques to fabric.

There will be no additional materials fee for this workshop.
Max of 18 people.

List of supplies participants bring:

  1. Paper:  Watercolor paper – hot press or cold press (not rough) – cut into pieces, assorted sizes from 12” x 18” to as large as you feel comfortable working on.  Sizes are your choice.  This alphabet will work on many different size grounds.  Scraps you have will also work. Also, Canson and Strathmore make watercolor paper pads that will work.

  2. Medium: Carrie will bring ink for you to use in class.  If you would like to learn how to use watercolor with your own pens, bring your watercolor pans or tubes with mixing brushes, water pot and paper towels.

  3. An adventurous spirit and an open mind!
