I have been an artist all my life. As far back as I can remember, I knew I loved all art forms. I started working with 3D sculptures, ceramics, and weaving in college and later studied watercolor painting and textiles. I’m currently experimenting with art quilts. I’m trying to capture the essence of nature and present it in 3D as a soft sculpture. I’m incorporating my love of the painted silk surfaces with my love of three-dimensional forms.
I teach and give workshops in silk and watercolor painting. I love the feeling of the silk surface and I enjoy painting on it. I try to capture the intense beauty of nature in my work. I paint flowers, scenes and landscapes from my travels. The flowers I painted for this show were grown and raised in my garden. They’re the inspiration for my artwork.
I enjoy instructing students and sharing my passion for the arts with them. I like to be part of their creative process and growth. Currently I teach silk painting workshops in my studio in Calabasas and watercolor workshops at the Wellness Community in Valley/Ventura. I also give weekend workshops through the American Jewish University.
Currently, I have designed two lines of fabrics for RJR FABRICS. My first fabric line was “Tranquil Waters” and my newest fabric is “My Secret Garden”, a scene of an orchids garden growing in water.
