Mission Statement for SAA

The Surface Art Association (SAA) includes artists who work in a variety of media and is dedicated to artists whose primary focus are the creative use, alteration and embellishment of textile/fiber surfaces. This includes, but is not limited to weaving, painting on fiber and textile surfaces, collage, sculpture, complex cloth, art to wear, and mixed media. Some members are exhibiting fine artists and others are just getting started in their creative ventures. SAA in addition to the artists in their membership, welcomes educators and individuals who are interested in sharing their creative knowledge and innovations, exhibiting artwork and furthering the dialogue of surface design.

To Enter: Entries must be submitted by Wed., Jan. 11th by sending images to Georgia Freedman-Harvey at gfhtwo@me.com and indicate your name, title, media, date & size, sale price or NFS with your image and include your email and phone #. If you submit more than one image the board will select one and let members know by Jan. 22nd which piece was selected. Payment can be made at our website: www.surfaceartassociation.org   (Pay pal instructions below) or checks can be sent to Barbara Weitekamp made out to SAA (pieces can not be accepted into the exhibition without payment)
